A mother will be forced to miss her baby's first words after being sentenced to at least three years behind bars for her role in an ice trafficking ring.
Kirsha Leigh Welldon, from Darling Downs in southern Queensland, pleaded guilty to five trafficking and possession offences at Brisbane Supreme Court on Monday.
Welldon admitted to committing the string of crimes while her mother, who was looking after Welldon's young child, watched on from the back of the court.

The court heard Welldon had been second in command of a drug syndicate that sold a 'significant' amount of ice and cannabis to at least 35 customers in the regional town of Tara between March 2015 and October 2016.
Welldon's home had been raided by police on several occasions, in which they found 820g of ice, 1.61kg of cannabis and 65g of a methamphetamine cutting agent, The Sunshine Coast Daily reported.

A weapon and $3000 cash was also reportedly found at Welldon's home residence.
Justice Soraya Ryan said while Welldon was not the instigator she was still heavily involved in the illicit business.

The court heard Welldon had also previously breached court orders including bail conditions, probation and suspended sentences.
Justice Ryan handed Welldon eight years in prison for her part in the drug ring.
Welldon will be eligible for parole in February 2022.
Her co-accused is yet to appear in court.
